Who Private Lessons Are For
🐣 Complete Beginners
Build correct technique from the very first session. No bad habits from watching and copying. Most beginners who train twice a week are rallying consistently within six to eight sessions.
🏆 Competitive Juniors
Technical precision and tactical education that a group session can’t match. TAG’s junior coaches have deep experience in age-appropriate competition preparation and load management.
🔄 Habit Correction
Adult players with ingrained flaws need nuanced one-on-one work. Your coach identifies the root cause, explains it clearly, and builds drills that progressively rewire the movement pattern.
🎯 Tournament Prep
Tactical sharpening, opponent analysis, and mental readiness. Your coach builds a game plan around your strengths for the specific competition ahead.
What Happens in a 60-Minute Session
1
Warm-Up & Assessment (10 min)
Structured warm-up tailored to you. For advanced players, a quick movement assessment ensures the session starts safely and purposefully.
2
Technical Focus (25–35 min)
Targeted work on the one or two areas with the highest return on investment — forehand, serve, backhand, net game. Isolated skill work progresses into live ball rallies.
3
Applied Practice & Match Simulation (15–20 min)
Point play, situational scenarios, and pressure drills. Skills learned in isolation are tested under conditions that mirror real competition.
4
Review & Goal-Setting (5 min)
What was covered, what you did well, and what to focus on before next session. Off-court homework assigned here transforms isolated lessons into a coherent development journey.

Frequently Asked Questions — Private Tennis Lessons
How often should I take private lessons?
At least once a week with practice in between. Twice a week significantly accelerates progress. If you can only commit to one session a week, make the most of your coach’s assigned drills and homework between lessons.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least a week in advance to secure your preferred time and coach. Package holders receive priority scheduling and a consistent weekly slot. WhatsApp +65 8962 8400 to check availability.
What is the minimum commitment?
There is no minimum commitment. You can start with a single ad hoc trial lesson before deciding on a package. Most students find that a 10-hour package suits their first phase of development well.
At what age can my child start lessons?
TAG accepts children from age 3 through our Junior Pee Wee programme, which focuses on fun, coordination, and early racket familiarity. Private lessons for older juniors (7+) are highly effective for competitive development.
What happens if it rains during my outdoor lesson?
If the court is unplayable due to rain, your lesson is rescheduled at no cost. The simplest solution is to train at Winchester Tennis Arena — our fully indoor facility where weather is never a factor.
What is the cancellation policy?
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) may be counted as a session used. Please WhatsApp your coach or our team directly to reschedule.
Can I request a specific coach?
Yes. You can request any coach from our coaching team based on their specialty, location, or profile. Subject to availability, we will match you directly. If your first choice is fully booked, we will recommend the closest match and arrange a trial first.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
Coaches bring balls and cone equipment. Bring your own racket, or ask your coach for a beginner racket recommendation if you are just starting out. Court hire is arranged and included in your booking.
Where are lessons held in Singapore?
Everywhere. TAG coaches travel island-wide: condominiums in Orchard, Bedok, Buona Vista, Marine Parade; public courts; country clubs including The Tanglin Club and Warren Golf & Country Club; and international schools. Plus our indoor courts at Winchester Tennis Arena, 12A Winchester Road.
Are lessons suitable for complete beginners?
Absolutely. Private lessons are ideal for beginners — you start with a clean slate, learning correct grip, stance, footwork, and swing path from session one. No bad habits from watching others. Your coach moves at exactly your pace.
