Junior Group Tennis Lessons
TAG International Tennis Academy’s kids tennis lesson programmes cater for children and teens from 3 to 14 years old. Each stage is carefully designed to help children develop their fundamentals in tennis through footwork drills and competitive game training. As a result, students build confidence and technical skills progressively.
Group tennis lessons are great for children who are starting out, as they meet like-minded kids and have fun while learning tennis together. However, for more focused development, private tennis lessons are always recommended. In this case, juniors receive undivided one-to-one coaching attention from our experienced coach, who focuses specifically on each student’s weaknesses and development areas.
Furthermore, TAG International Tennis Academy offers one of the best group tennis lesson programmes for children in Singapore. These juniors group tennis lessons are conducted at the sheltered courts at Winchester Tennis Arena, as well as the outdoor courts of TAG @ One North and Chinese Swimming Club. The goal is to build a love for the sport while helping each child develop a positive attitude and discipline.

Junior Group Tennis Programmes at TAG
Pee Wee (ages 3 to 4 years old)
The Pee Wee tennis program caters for the youngest of all tennis players and focuses on fun and games so children can associate tennis with enjoyment. The program involves eye-hand coordination games, moving and running games, and most of all, fun and play for the duration of the class. It is a good lead-in class prior to the children moving on to the Learners program, where the children can then start learning the basics of the tennis game, for instance, forehands and backhands.
Learners (ages 5 to 6 years old)
The Learners tennis program is a good balance of starting to ease them into the basics while still letting them participate in fun activities. This cultivates discipline and builds the childrens’ love for the sport.
Grippers (ages 5 to 8 years old)
The Grippers is where it all begins. Children will learn the basics of the tennis game while having loads of fun enjoying their time on court. Forehands, backhands, volleys and serves are all the basic strokes which Grippers will master. Mini tennis and plenty of tennis based games will ensure that the children will want to keep coming back for more.
Junior Novice (Ages 7 to 14 years)
Junior Novice will take the children’s tennis to the next level. Children with some playing experience will fit well here. All strokes of tennis will be covered with the drills becoming more movement orientated and the games leading towards more tennis point play. This is where the children begin to get into the real game.
Junior Players (Ages 8 to 14 years old) : Levels 1 to 3
As the name suggests, the Players tennis program is where real game play begins. Children with a good knowledge of the game should look at this program for a more serious playing environment. Some aspects of the program include directional hitting, smashes, serving, point play and physical fitness. Ability to rally consistently in the goal here.
