TECNIFIBRE is the preferred tennis strings of TAG International Tennis Academy coaches, distributed by SPORTS REPORT. Strings are the soul of racquet where it is the very thing which makes contact with the ball and greatly determines what the tennis player feels. However, many tennis players think that they are just an afterthought after they have chosen their racquets.

It is important to choose the best string and tension for your game style. At TAG International Tennis Academy, one of the best tennis academies in Singapore that conducts high-performance tennis lessons for both children and adults, all our coaches prefer TECHIFIBRE tennis strings for their racquets for the best performance even during their tennis lesson.

Tennis string choice for beginners to advance players

Choosing the right tennis string is important. A bad choice can end up with a string that does not suit your playing style, or even tires your arms and your joints out. There is no substitute for a comfortable tennis playing experience, so be prepared to try a few different strings and tensions before finding the best fit for you.

Beginner Tennis Player

While there are plenty of options to choose from, the Synthetic Gut string which is the most economical of the various string families, definitely are best suited for beginners tennis players. This type of string is cheaper and softer but provide a dynamic response and are enjoyed by players of multiple levels. Basically the types of strings will not make much of a difference to a beginner’s game but by choosing the wrong kind of strings can certainly set back the progress in the game. Thus, the most important concerns for a string to the beginners should be the comfort (as they tend to mishit) and cost.

Intermediate Tennis Player

Tennis players who have been playing for a while, with basic techniques, movements and can control some of your directional shots. You might want to consider strings with better feel and qualities like Multifilament strings or softer Co-Polyester strings.

Multifilament strings can help to produce more power and comfort compared to synthetic gut strings. They help to absorb impact shock and load the ball with power and are also a preferred choice for players with tender arms and elbows.

Advanced Tennis Player

As an advanced tennis player, you should be able to generate your own game pace comfortably. Hitting hard and strong shots to controlling the depth of shots with accuracy. Therefore, most players would generally want more control and will go for full Polyesters string or Hybrids string at higher tensions.

Polyester is a very durable string designed to provide control and durability to players with long, fast strokes. Polyester has been the number one choice on pro tours because it allows advanced ball strikers to maintain maximum control on their fastest and most aggressive strokes.

Hybrids string is the mixing of two different types of string in the same racquet. Hybrids stringing has become popular in the last several years in pro tours. Since polyester-based strings are stiffer, many players tried to mixed them with synthetic or natural gut strings to have a better play experience and comfortable string bed, while retaining much of the poly’s spin and durability characteristics.

By this stage, the choice of the string is also very dependent on the style of your play and preferences.
